Remember
  • Make sure you’re truly working with the lateral canthal tendon, not just adjacent soft tissue. Fixation is only as good as what you’re anchoring.
  • Don’t forget the globe–lid relationship. The lid should be supporting the eye, not pulled into a position that only looks right on the table.
  • Be mindful of vector. Where you secure things matters more than how tight it feels, as poor direction is what leads to rounding and unnatural contour.
  • Before committing, pause and reassess with the tissues at rest. If it feels like you need extra tension to “make it work,” that’s usually a warning sign.
  • Finally, protect the canthal angle itself. A clean angle is harder to recreate than lid tightness once it’s lost.
