I'm currently going through the latest runway shows (Milan & Paris fashion weeks, FW26 collections) and the number of LTN/MTN models is quite staggering. No, I'm not talking about ugly guys with striking and unusual features that give them an edge ; instead, just average and below average guys with bland faces and nothing to redeem their flaws. Their only merit is to be lean and 6'0"-6'3", if even that — height fraud is common in this industry, and a slight height pass is frequently given to ethnics.
Down below, you can uncover a selection mostly found among powerhouses (Prada, LV, D&G, Paul Smith, Zegna, etc.) and well-established brands, who can definitely afford casting the best-looking & most popular models from the most prestigious agencies.
I left aside all the queer weirdos from small brands whose first intent is to proselytize their degen ideology rather than producing stylish garments ; casting ugly models is the rule for them.
If you're MTN-HTN, lean, and above 6 feet, you might as well send your candids to a bunch of agencies in London, Paris, and Milan. The bar seems lower than ever. Especially for ethnics.
