Severe overbite, extractions, and constant jutting. HELP
I’ve been frauding by jutting my jaw 24/7. I finally took an unfrauded side profile showing my natural bite, and it’s so bad. My lower jaw is severely recessed (retrognathia / Class II malocclusion).
To "fix" my massive overbite, my ortho extracted two upper premolars. They are currently using braces to drag my maxilla back to meet my recessed lower jaw. It is actively flattening my midface, killing my under-eye support, and ruining my lip projection. They are ruining my top half to match my deficient bottom half.
II know jaw surgery (BSSO/bimax) is the actual cure for retrognathia, but I am strictly looking for softmaxxing/ortho pivots. NO SURGERY right now.
Is it too late to tell my ortho to stop the retraction? If I stop it, I’ll be left with a massive overjet. Is there any non-surgical appliance to bring the lower jaw forward instead of pulling the top back?
I jut constantly to not look sub5. Is Mewing even physically possible or effective when your lower jaw sits an inch behind your upper maxilla? Is constant jutting going to destroy my jaw joints (TMJ)?
So should I keep going with the treatment and fix my bite or stop and be left with an overjet (jutting)? Any other options?
