ortho dontist consultation today im 16 and a half they made me take pics unfrauded of front and side and took exray yes i came out subhuman he tells me my mandible is pushed back bad and that i have class 2 malocclusion and deep bite and some palateal issues mainly cuz of my recessed face mostly mandible
i ask him can i get palate expander or herbest appliance to bring jaw foward he says to late for me and growth is done right when he said that i panicked and almost broke down but on the inside ofc cuz im great at hiding what im feeling i put on a fake smile even tho im about start sobbing any sec
he says ok sarrr for you i give carrier applaince to move teeth but not ja w i told him that i had breathing problems which is mostly true
and he said we cant fix that and go check ur nose for deviated septum even tho ik my mandible is the reason what do i do im sobbing right now i held it in but now i cant

Why are you sad, class II malocclusion 9/10 is covered by insaurence for double jaw surgery.

thats only for severe class 2 maloclusions mines not severe enough even tho i think it is

How many mm is the overbite

get a second opinion before you assume it’s over, one orthodontist isnt all of them. ask whether it’s a dental problem or a skeletal one, because if it’s skeletal then moving teeth won’t fix the jaw

if your lower jaw really is significantly recessed and your growth is mostly finished, if your breathing is effected jaw surgery could be on the cards, also get your breathing checked properly by an ent instead of assuming it’s only your jaw.

i dont remmber quite well since when he was taking measurements i was having a mental breakdown after looking at my subhuman exrays but i think i heard the number 6 or 5 i think it was either 5mm or 6 mm
