Ortho for overbite

I think I have an overbite(Top teeth overlap bottom) and I’m getting ortho soon. How do I make sure he doesn’t recess me. Because I’ve seen a shit ton of stuff about cover orthodontics. High Iq’s please help me

i was on invisalign for like a year before this, that brought my upper teeth back. Now so that the appliance can actually do its job i have to hop on top teeth braces for 6 months, appliance for a year, then lower braces for another 6. I'm not that old so i'm not getting any teeth removed.
