My goal is to widen my upper palette and fix some slight misalignment and gaps between my teeth

- First, widening the upper palate. I'll probably visit an airway orthodontist to get a palate expander installed. What type should I go for? Slow, semi-rapid or rapid? Mike Mew recommend the semi-rapid so that's what I had in mind

- Second would be fixing the flaws in my teeth. It's nothing crazy but just some slight misalignment in the lower incisors and a small gap between my upper-left canine and premolars. And to fix the potential gap between my upper teeth after palatale expansion I'll need realignment instead of retraction. Would retainers be better than braces for fixing my teeth? I heard that braces retract your teeth and ruin your face but don't retainers do the same? Idk


Also, I'll be 19 when I get all this done, not sure if this helps


Anyways, TLDR:
19, getting ortho work done to fix small flaws. Best palate expander? slow, semi-rapid, rapid? Slight misalignment in lower incisors, gap between upper-left canine and premolars, gap from expander. Realignment over retraction, retainers or braces?

yes, retainedrs (like invisalign) are superior in almost all cases (only thing that comes to mind is when a surgeons needs to use some kind of a fixated point during DJS)
