orthodontics concern

Im concerned with consulting an orthodontist and asking for a herbst appliance to pull my mandible forward and fix my deep bite, and also asking for braces, my teeth are pretty straight but I have a deep bite. my worry is that the herbst appliance would cause recession or limit my maxillary growth as a teen in development
