Orthodontics needs a change.

Dude, i’m kinda pissed.
When I was 7 i was given braces and elastics. the braces were fine but the elastics fucked me up.
I don’t get how that is allowed, you’re literally pulling DOWN on the maxilla. Like it’s commonly known in orthodontics that the maxilla controls the way someone looks. They give you that treatment without explaining to anyone what the long term effects of it are.
I got lucky. I look okay, i have decent forward growth, but my sister was totally fucked over.
She had to wear elastics for like 2 years and it gave her a super gummy smile. I feel so bad for her.
She went to a surgeon to talk about jaw surgery and they even mentioned that she had our local orthos “signature look”.
Dawg they know this shit isn’t right. They fuck up kids faces and make their parents pay for it. Braces are fine - that and a pate expander helped me when i was younger. But elastics? Straight evil bro. Find a solution that doesn’t fuck up someone’s face.
Bad teeth > recessed face.
So unjust bro.

For the orthodontics industry to change two things need to happen. 1. The population needs to become blackpilled on looks 2. People need to stop getting braces/elastics as a result.

I don't see neither of those happening anytime soon so orthodontists will keep stealing money and ruining peoples faces. Best you can do is tell your close friends and family not to botch their entire face.
