I need some help if anyone is knowledgeable about this topic. I am missing my upper lateral incisors I’ve head braces for about a year and a half until a year ago because I had an operation that required for them to remove them. My orthodontists plan is to close the space where there are missing lateral incisors but I think that that’s not the right option and the correct one would be to expand and create more space for implants or another solution instead of closing the space and possibly worsening my looks or other things. I also think that my palate might be a bit too narrow since I was breathing through my mouth a lot till about 13 years old because I had allergies, I am now 17. What should I do? Should I ask for a pallet expander or maybe MSE?

imo closing the space will just make ur arch smaller and mess up ur smile. at 17 u can still widen a bit with a palatal expander or MSE, esp if ur palate is narrow from mouthbreathing. talk to an ortho who knows about MSE and implants so they can create space for lateral implants later. dont rush tho, get a couple opinions and focus on proper tongue posture to keep ur palate wide.
