I’m still standing my ground on avoiding premolar extractions, I just left my orthodontist appointment, and my aunt started ganging up on me, saying I should get my premolars extracted now so I don’t have to deal with it when I’m older. She kept saying that I “Google everything” and that the internet isn’t reliable.

When my orthodontist came over, she also recommended premolar extractions. I’m already about 53% done with my braces according to their computer estimate, but she said she knew a way to close the gaps in my teeth which involves extractions.

Then my aunt and the orthodontist were talking, and the orthodontist said, “I can definitely tell he Googles a lot, but when he’s older and his teeth are straight because of me, he can get jaw surgery,” and went on to describe it “as cutting the jaw in half and repositioning it” making it sound really bad.
