is there anything i can ask the orthodontist for to help my slightly recessed chin or mandible, i currently have braces

yea i do have an over bite they treated with a herpts appliance back before i got my braces and i got it removed a year after but i need more, ill ask about the elastics tho, is it just the bands?

Then get Herbst appliance until you're bite is fixed. No use of elastics if you're bite is normal.

so i should ask for another herbst? i don’t think my bite is necessarily the problem anymore i think it’s my chin but idrk

The only way ortho's can fix a recessed chin/mandible is cause of a overbite. If you don't have any dental issues, you're chin projection is what's wrong.

Well, go ahead. Not sure if they'd give you Herbst or elastics when you're bite is ideal. It won't do anything, you have to do other surgical procedures.
