Orthodontist wants to Extract Two Premolars

After telling my dentist for years in a row that my bite is messed up, but getting ignored, I convinced my parents to take me to the orthodontist to get my bite checked out.

Unsurprisingly, she diagnosed me with the following:
- "The lower jaw is asymmetrical with the chin deviated to the left"
- "The lower front teeth have erupted too far behind the upper front teeth (deep bite)"
- "The dental midlines do not align"
- "The bite is uneven with the upper teeth on the left side biting forward to where they should"

I've also got a bit of crowding in both my upper and lower teeth.

In terms of treatment, she wants me to get braces on my upper and lower teeth, alongside elastics to improve my bite. Following that, she will "reassess my bite" for the extraction of two upper premolars, which if I recall correctly was to be done with the aim of making space for my crowding, and helping to realign my dental midlines/ fixing my bite on the left side of my mouth, as apparently I already have a "perfect bite" on my right side, but not on my left.

My problem with this is that I obviously don't want to get extractions, especially of premolars, as I've seen what they can do to the face with bone reabsorption etc. I'm not 100% sure on this, but both my parents and I recall her saying that she only needed 2.5mm of space, so surely two premolars is far to excessive.

Does anyone have any thoughts on alternatives? I'm currently thinking of asking her about the potential of getting MASPE/FME, as this should solve the problem of needing more space for my crowding, through expansion rather than extraction. I also wouldn't mind some improvements to my breathing. If she needs space for the lower teeth, Interproximal Reduction may work from what I've seen, which is done by shaving small bits of enamel in between teeth in order to get the additional space. Obviously I'd need braces/Invisalign with this as well.

Feedback/Ideas Appreciated

dont do it. i got mine removed and i hate it sm. ask your orthodontist for palate expanders or at least inteproximal reduction

it will cause recession

make it clear that you would much rather prefer expanding rather than extracting, and if they don’t agree then you’re gonna have to find a new ortho
