Just to clarify, I’m only getting an infraorbital rim implant and/or fat grafting. Usually in Islam, surgeries for pure beautification are ḥarām, but I asked my scholar Shaykh ʿAmmār b. Hāshim az-Zubaʿī حفظه الله and he said it’s permissible if the person feels deep insecurity about it.
Shaykh Dr Ammar ibn Hashim Az-Zooba'ee حفظه الله answered:
Wa 'alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
If this is a defect and it causes you embarrassment or distress about yourself, and the like, then it is permissible. However, if it does not cause such issues, then it is not permissible.
And Allah knows best.
What I’m currently doing / planning to do:
- Accutane
- Minoxidil
- Latisse (bimatoprost)
- Teeth whitening
What else can I do?
