Over 3cm of clavicle lengthening(each side) achieved using distraction

This guy got clavicle lengthening with some russian surgeon using distraction.

All the surgeons who perform clavicle lengthening in the west(only Eppley and Leif rodgers afaik) only lengthen by 1-2cm and use the sliding clavicle osteotomy which limits how much widening can be achieved because of the surrounding shoulder anatomy and soft tissue attachments.

Distraction mitigates this because it gives the surrounding tissue more time to adapt and stretch gradually to the widening which would mean more length could be achieved.

will get this done in a heartbeat once more people at least verify no mobility issues like the sliding osteotomy causes

also wonder what limiting factor the scapula has in how much u can lengthen

it isn't really performed cosmetically with distraction (not sure why)

the variant that is performed(sliding clavicle osteotomy) produces minimal results and often leads to complications and problems with shoulder function because of the immediate lengthening of the clavicle which places a lot of stress on the adjacent shoulder anatomy
