I didnt play it but people said to me that skyrim was way more replayable and deep despite having less fancy graphics (might be wrong, again this is info relayed by others).

To me "future of gaming" and "revolutionary" would be for example Adapting the entirety of dwarf fortress world and behavior generatio into a "real time" game or shit equivalent to the first time a game was seen in real 3D vs 2D. Thats true revolution, and not a little extra attention to detail and story choices in some RPG.
