Why Smart People Are Better Off With Fewer Friends
In other words, if you're highly intelligent, interacting with others is such a pain in the ass that rotting alone most of the time is actually as good as it's going to get for your quality of life.
To add insult to injury, female iq clusters much more heavily around the mean (graph below). So if you have an IQ that's significantly greater than one standard deviation above the norm, finding even one girl that's smart enough to easily get along with is a long shot. Your best bet might be rotting and having unfulfilling casual sex with dumb dumbs for the rest of your life (if you even have the looks, etc. to pull that off).
The more social interactions with close friends a person has, the greater their self-reported happiness. But there was one big exception. For more intelligent people, these correlations were diminished or even reversed.
More intelligent individuals were actually less satisfied with life if they socialized with their friends more frequently. Let me repeat that last one: When smart people spend more time with their friends, it makes them less happy.
