Overcoming High Inhib in the Moment

I know from personal experience the simplest way to lower inhib for an event would be the substances route with something like alcohol or I assume xanax, however if you really have to override your inhibitions in a moment where you don’t have the time/access to substances what are the last resorts to force yourself not to pussy out of something.

I’ve been in situations where I don’t have time for the drunk confidence to come on or don’t have access to substances and have missed so many once in a moment opportunities acting like a faggot getting in my head and the regret sits with me years later.

Anyone else in this situation have good advice?

Breathe slowly and focus on just that, let your subconscious act for you, imagine the best possible scenario over and over.
It's one of the most difficult things to do unfortunately, and it needs a crazy amount of practice.

I'd say the best experience you could get to reduce inhibitions is team sports or some sort of combat sport, it tends to be very embarrassing at first, so it gets you accustomed to awkward situations and how to deal with them

Absolutely isn't cope, I was super high inhib like fucking sweating shaky social anxiety in freshman year, got a job at target and socialized WAY more, made mistakes at first, looked retarded sometimes, but through experience and failing I improved alot socially and grew into being completely low inhib.


Now I can literally say anything or do anything to anyone and have zero fear like super low inhib, it's definitely like a muscle you can train. put yourself out there more and gain confidence and inhib plummets

Bad advice imo, practicing breath work and "imagining" possible outcomes in scenarios is literally a disaster and will INCREASE inhib, to lower your inhib you want to be in the present moment and don't think about the past or future just experience what's happening as it does.

Bad advice imo, practicing breath work and "imagining" possible outcomes in scenarios is literally a disaster and will INCREASE inhib, to lower your inhib you want to be in the present moment and don't think about the past or future just experience what's happening as it does.
Thing is being in the present moment just makes you over think your situation, at least in my experience, I start to notice small details and worrying about them instead of "going with the flow"

Was that something you worked on daily? How long did it take for you before you noticed a big drop in your inhib

Wasn't a daily practice or something, It kind of comes to you all at once. In one summer I went from zero confidence extremely high inhib and bad social anxiety to genuinely confident and retard level low inhib, I think it really stems from self image and inexperience, you never see any old people who are high inhib they usually all don't give a fuck and just act how they want lol.

If you're in highschool definitely try to get a retail job like target and throw yourself out there, bluff hard, pretend you're low inhib and very quickly it will become your reality.
