2 years ago, I couldnt answer a question in class without going red and wanting to rope max right there and then. I was the most ND nervous wreck imaginble. I am making this thread for anyone who struggles with social anxiety. I have by no means conquered my social anxiety but I have definitely become more confident. If you are struggling with the same thing I would recommend to:
1. STOP GOONING
This is quite literally one of the worst things you can do if you struggle in social settings. It makes you high inhibition. It makes you view girls as more than they are worth and it really does just make you nervous all round. I highly recommended to stop this if u do have issues with it.
2. Join a popular group or surround your self with sociable people
This is the main thing that helped me out, I was friends with a few people who were quite popular. I was friends with them since I've known them for years. However, this allowed me to join the "popular" group in school which really put me in a lot more uncomfortable social environments and gets you speaking to a lot of different people which is also very important in becoming more confident. Exposure is key. If you don't like talking to people, go talk to people. If you hate eye contact, make eye contact (dont be a creep). The point is make your self uncomfortable and you will eventually get used to this stuff
3. Realize nobody give a FUCK
Literally, no one cares what you do unless its like a horror crime (in which case you will be in prison). But seriously, if something embarrassing happens to you people will talk about it for a day MAX. Just learn to not care what others think and you will be a lot happier in your self and a lot more confident.
4. SLEEP MAX
I literally never hear people talking about this, but when i started sleeping for 8-10 hours instead of 7 I felt so much more awake and bothered to speak to people. I dont know the science behind it but its pretty much common sense. More energy= Better conversations= More status= More confident= Better life
This the end of my post, i just want to clarify I haven't fully overcome my social anxiety but I go out with 20+ people at a time and have fun with out being that anxious, my conversation skills are lacking atm so if anyone can help w that id appreciate it. Love yall have a good day
