People say curries are backwards animals with a fucked up culture and what not, but I really wonder, is it really "culture" , or is it something else?

Let me ask you, could I expect this kind of behavior from rural towns/villages in places like Russia, or maybe the balkans. What about the middle east, or east asia? Has anyone ever read any fucked up shit like this coming from the rural backwards parts of their own country? Why is it whenever I DO HEAR OF THESE THINGS, it's always coming out of south asia?
