honestly, the chest shot is probably just because it's easier to hit yourself accurately there than in the head. the brain is way more complex and a headshot aiming for suicide might be too difficult for someone in that state.

plus, even if you survive a headshot, the chances of severe disability are much higher. the chest is still a pretty fatal area imo.
