I dont know if his bimax is as good as the palatal expansion results, but it looks promising!

a slightly Narrow palate is actually good if you have a wide jaw bone/massaters because you can easily achieve the striking 'hollow cheek' look.

How does palatal width affect that?

Hollow cheeks are a result of a wide maxila (wide/prominent cheekbones) and a wide square jaw+with little buccal fat.

A wide maxila is correalated with a wide palate thus wide zygos=hollow cheeks

just look at scott eastwood

wide palate is giga ideal

What does it mean if my maxilla is very wide and my palate is narrow?

Why does her face look narrower in the after? I thought that widening the palate made the whole face wider

Isnt this a tooth-bourne expansion and not a bone-bourne one like mse? Doesnt that have a high chance to fuck you over

Elaborate ? Not everyone has read all the articles on this website

mse is screwed into the roof of your mouth and works to split the suture by putting forces on the bone right there. Hyrax looks like it is just on the roof of your mouth and pushes on your teeth to have expansion. If it pushes on the teeth and not the bone, it may cause the teeth to tilt instead of expanding the palate.

Tooth-borne vs. bone-borne expansion

A study published by Lin et al.[7] in 2015 found that for patients in late adolescence, bone-borne expanders produced greater orthopedic effects and fewer dento-alveolar side effects compared to the hyrax expanders. However, a study published by Lagravere et al.[8] in 2010, stated that there was no difference between the bone-borne and tooth-borne expansion devices. Both types of expanders showed similar results and that the greatest changes were seen in the transverse dimension, changes in the vertical and anteroposterior dimensions were negligible.

thanks bruh

:

  • In late-adolescent patients, bone-borne expanders produced greater transverse skeletal expansion when compared to tooth-borne hyrax expanders.
  • In the bone-borne expander group there was less alveolar bending, less dental tipping, and less vertical alveolar bone loss at the first premolar.
  • Dental expansion at the root apices in the C-expander group was similar to that of the banded teeth of the hyrax group but greater than that of the nonbanded teeth.
  • The bone-borne expander used without surgical assistance can be an effective treatment modality for maxillary skeletal deficiency in late adolescents.

You can only expand palate if you have a crossbite, otherwise you would also need to expand the lower jaw with msdo.

Bro the lower jaw adapts to the upper in my experience
My ortho did rapid maxillary expander 2-3 years ago and I worried about that my lower would stay that way he said it adopts
And it did after 6-9 months
