Should I get one at 16 and is there a palate expander that also causes the maxilla to go forward at the same time

there are expanders that also cause the maxilla to move forward but u dont get that with normal ones, they primaly increase the width of the upper jaw, they dont protract the maxilla on their own also u could go to an orthodontist and get a cbct or a lateral ceph x-ray

at 16 youre borderline sutures might be fused you'd need a surgical expander or MSE for real forward growth dental ones just widen smile not maxilla JFL.

How do I check if my sutures have fused or not, do I need an x ray

Ok let's say I were to book an appointment with my orthodontist, what should I ask for

yeah cbct scan or ask for a lateral ceph if the midpalatal suture’s interdigitated nonsurgical expansion is cope JFL.

im confused about non surgical and surgical expanders, dont both expand the palate? is it a different result at the end?
