Should I get one at 16 and is there a palate expander that also causes the maxilla to go forward at the same time

there are expanders that also cause the maxilla to move forward but u dont get that with normal ones, they primaly increase the width of the upper jaw, they dont protract the maxilla on their own also u could go to an orthodontist and get a cbct or a lateral ceph x-ray

im confused about non surgical and surgical expanders, dont both expand the palate? is it a different result at the end?

iirc I saw a jawhacks interview with this lady who claimed she had a 30 year old male client experience a good amount of forward growth from extreme expansion (like 10 mm).

Yeah not very realistic, I just thought it was interesting
