So I desperately need a palate expander. Im going to the dentist february 18. for them to refer me to an orthodontist.

- Is MSE purely for adults? Since it splits your suture, and when youre younger im guessing that isnt needed because the sutures havent hardened yet or wtv

- Does RME do the same and at the same amount as MSE, if im 16? Since my sutures didnt harden yet

- If i get offered RME instead of MSE, should i take it? Since im pretty certain MSE wont be an option (not so popular in my country)

- If i do get an MSE, how will the teeth grow back in place so that i dont have a massive gap in my front teeth? Is that another orthodontic appliance?

Thanks for your time, and if you would like to spare some more i have another thread regarding questions about certain peptides, which i havent gotten a single answer from lmao

Even if u get a gap in your tooth u can buy a singular veneer to cover the gap they do that

Some orthodontists say mse isn’t good

you'll likely get a RME instead, since your sutures haven't fused, RMEs and MSEs work differently in the sense of what they target, RMEs target surrounding bones and teeth rather than MSEs which directly target the suture, always take RMEs are less invasive and MSEs are only used when RMEs are no longer possible due to the suture fusing.
Should you get an MSE, the gap between your front teeth naturally close over time as the bone heals, but braces or other alignment methods may need to be applied.

Aleight thanks for the answer, will an RME make my maxilla and face wider, and fix my breathing problems?

Yes, an RME can make your maxilla and face wider, but the degree of change depends on your age, bone flexibility, and how much expansion you achieve. Since you're 16 and your midpalatal suture is likely not fully fused, RME should still be effective at widening your upper jaw, and will likely fix breathing problems.

Uou could literally just google all theese questions

Those low iq dentists said that my maxilla in no way affects my breathing, and she said I had a narrow palate, but not narrow enough or sm idk

She didnt even wanna let me get an appointment to the orthodontist, but I do have another dentist appointment here soon bc they had to do something else that they didnt have time for, hopefully its someone else so I can convince them instead

how much is the intermolar width?
I have no idea, they suggested me getting a nose surgery when I turn 18 though lmao. Which when I turn 18 my bad breathing will already have recessed me even more severely than I already am

Do you have sleep apnea?

No I do not, but I have trouble nosebreathing, especially at night. Maybe I can attach a picture of my palate if you could use that instead of knowing the measurements
