It's about time that I contribute something of marginal value to the forum so here are tooth borne palate expander results (in chronological order):

Just barely 8, my palate is still a little narrower than I would like it to be despite me cranking it twice as much as my ortho asked jfl

well it wasnt screwed into ur palate, u likely did not do much by cranking it double, just shifted the teeth more.

i've been thinking about getting marpe to get a 10 tooth smile, but i dont think any ortho would give me one cuz mines already an 8 tooth.

10 tooth is ideal imo if it doesnt make ur maxilla width look uncanny.

Hello, I have a palate expander as well, I was doing it 2x for 2 weeks and a gap in my front 2 teeth occurred. And when I was doing it like the pressure to crank it was pretty stiff, now it’s been 2 weeeks and I’m cranking it and it’s barely any pressure, also the gap in my teeth has shrank? Was wondering if this happened to u. I was prescribed to do 1x a day but I’m doing it 2 since I was hoping it can fix my maxilla. Did it fix ur maxilla?

Why are you not following instructions?
Doing more =/= better

It's probably best to listen to your doctor, I just felt as though I wasn't given enough time to get the expansion I needed which is why I cranked twice as much. If you are using a tooth borne device and are over the age of (roughly) 11-12, doing a lot of tooth borne expansion may only serve to jut your teeth out since most of your bones have already fused.

That did not happen to me while I had the appliance on, only after braces.

Did it fix ur maxilla?
There were a few incredibly minor changes that I can notice but no major movements of my maxilla. If you're expecting massive changes from a palate expander you probably are going to see what you're hoping for (once again, unless you're still very young), although my breathing is massively improved and my smile went from 6 teeth to 8 teeth which is nice.

did ur nose get bigger?

also was it an additional cost for ur braces

I asked my ortho and he refused to give me one, i have a 6 tooth smile

Hmm, I’m 18. Also when u was doing it, eventually did the resistance speed up like it was easier to turn the mse

I'm not even sure, if it did it's so minor that I can't tell.

I'm still a ittle jit, this was all paid for by my mother, so I don't really know the financial details. It was done before braces because I begged my ortho for it.

I asked my ortho and he refused to give me one, i have a 6 tooth smile
That's brutal, mine was resistant at first, but I was able to convince him after explaining how I thought my breathing would improve from the expansion and explained the mechanics of the device, which kinda impressed him :bigbrain:

16 now, 15 when I got the device in
Did this palate expander push your zygos outward like what it does with MARPE? (aka expanding the midface)

And what's the oldest age till you can get this palate expander?

Not really, the visual change I say besides widening my smile was making my midface appear fuller (if that makes any sense).

I think I was teetering on the edge of being too old for a tooth borne expander, but you could ask your ortho.
