Why do parents (and relatives to some degree) always say shit like "you are perfect the way you are" or "there is nothing wrong with your appearance" ?

Is it because of some evolutionary bonding bullshit or are they just unable to accept that the gremlin of a child they created with their partner happens to be a suboptimal specimen of the human species?

I think if it’s something fixable with surgery they should be honest and set up a fund

But if it’s like bad eye spacing or something else unchangeable maybe not

At least that’s how I would raise my kids

Im not saying that parents should tell their kids to ldar, pursue surgeries or rope, but even mentioning something like a rhino/genio will cause most parents to lose their shit and they will give you a bluepilled phd level seminar about confidence and personality. What im trying to understand is why parents can't accept the fact that their child might not be good looking and might infact be unattractive.

First time I mentioned about fixing my proven and documented retrognathia to my parents they looked at me like I was crazy. "No, you don't have that", "I never even noticed that"

Yeah i understand where you are coming from they shouldnt tell the kids they are ugly but accept they are because parents would go crazy over a kid trying to look better

At least that’s how I would raise my kids

100% dude. I wouldn't want to my children to have to deal with the sort of insecurities I had to deal with. If it comes down to it, I would support them with the surgeries as long as its reasonable. Im not buying my son Giant's mega plan just because he wants to mog.

i think its evolutionary but not the way you think. a parent loves their child and they will probably continue to love u when u grow up. when u like someone because of anything you tend to see them as more intelligent, pretty and good hearted. but i dont think its that hard to accept that your child is ugly. every parent wants to make their child feel good. and when these 2 things get mixed you get a untrustable fake ass compliment
