I see it all the time on reddit where parents say it's a good idea to charge kids rent for staying with them. I mean what kind of stupid fuck would charge their own kids who they created and brought to this earth for money to stay with them.

Setting them up for failure as it will affect the amount of money they save when they could use that money to save up and maybe just maybe buy a house. These parents are literally exploiting their own kids all to virtual signal that its " teaching kids how to budget". Forcing their own kids into the never ending cycle of renting.

Although I may not have the best relationship with my parents I am so greatful that at least they discourage me from moving out until I can afford a down payment on a house instead of getting sucked into renting for ever.
