[PART 2] palate expender at 17


This is going to be my second thread about my journey to get expended.
my first thread is already 2 or 3 months old, I was to lazy to post jfl

So basically I had my first ortho appointment:

I told him, that I noticed my palate might be narrow.
I said I can feel my tongue not having enough space to rest and that I cant hold my tongue up my palate for a long time.
I wasnt larping sleep apnea, but I still said that I have trouble breathing trough my nose, especially while high intensity workouts or sleeping.


Orthos response:

So basically, he said I prolly wont be getting an expender, because my palate isnt that narrow in comparison to my lower palate.
And since he cant expend the lower jaw, my upper jaw wouldnt align after expension.
But I am pretty sure u could still get a few mm expension, without making the palates asymmetrical.
I heard the lower jaw can align naturally after a small expansion.

But also it turns out one of my problems is also biprotusion, at least he said that my front teeth are angled outwards, and after my own research i came to the conclusion its biprotusion. Lmk if I am wrong tho..

He said the only thing he could do is either only braces to fix my overbite and just fix my ugly ass crooked teeth
or
to remove 4 of my teeth (prolly premolars/molars) so my teeth dont angle outwords like this and braces after again just to fix crooked teeth

Also he thought I was schizo for saying that my tongue doesnt fit in my mouth. He said most people dont feel their tongue fitting in.
Bruvv now he thinks im larpin all that
Is it placebo or is he just retarded and wants me to descend???


Second appointment: TOMMOROW (03.03)

For the second appointment, my ortho will do all the xray scans and measurements, etc
And last time I didnt think about jus showing him pics of marpe or damon braces maybe he was just to retarded to understand what I want.. I will try to explain more in depth tmr and also show him pics etc

Or what are other things I should tell him?

Should I try another ortho? I live in Germany and ik thats not many clinics do that here, but I heard its better to go to a airway focused ortho and the chances there are higher for marpe.

I dont even have 4 more months till Im 18 and after that healthcare wont pay for braces and braces is what I need anyways nomatter if I get marpe or not.

And since he cant expend the lower jaw, my upper jaw wouldnt align after expension.

My take:
Alveolar expansion can be achieved even in adults as long as there is enough bone density(or else you just do SFOT)
you can get a basig schwarz appliance and expand the lower jaw, to achieve the perfect occlusion needed after the expansion of the upper jaw, also with the aligners(as you mentioned) you could make the upper teeth and the lower teeth e bit tilted inwards, so they can have the correct alignment(but this was used years ago now most just do a boneborne expander and alveolar expand but old adults use SFOT due to the low bone densety in the area)
