ok thanks, was literally about to pay 500 dollars for the specific kit on ebay
diy'ing cog threads is a pain in the ass and it's likely you'd end up with bumps (they aren't hard to get rid of but it's still annoying)

they just help to build collagen and tighten the skin but the lines ultimately aren't caused by a lack of it, they're from the fat pad descending, only way around it is to dissolve the fat that has migrated.

would appreacite if you explained how to dissolve the fat? for context i used to be a bit heavier when i was younger and stored lots of face fat then lost lots of weight quickly and now i have really prominent smile lines. combined with long philtrum = death

I second this. I’ve done the big ass 18 gauge cogs and the regular smaller sharps and I wouldnt recommend either. Both leave scar tissue and both feel horrible in my face.On the other hand I have literally never had any complications with smooth threads besides puncturing some blood vessels or them hurting. ALSO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET MEDICAL SCISORS SO YOU CAN CUT THEM AS CLOSE TO THE SKIN AS POSSIBLE AND THEN PUSH THEM IN. If they are not fully inside your skin they will create terrible acne as a scab repeatedly forms over them. It’s awful. But if you do that I would say you’re pretty good to go. Especially for nasolabial folds, I forget that I ever even put them in all the time.
