The program “provides a powerful, invaluable experience for URiM [underrepresented in medicine] undergraduates — engaging students with each other and faculty, and connecting them to research activities as they begin their journeys toward medical careers,” Rose, the senior vice dean for Medical Education at Penn School of Medicine, stated in the release.

students who want to go to med school have to achieve a minimum score to demonstrate their aptitude for med school, that they're cut out to be a doctor, and of course it's hard so that only the very best can pass

stuff like this is really a disservice to ethniks because people will become even more racist and suspicious of ethnik doctors

I perform my own health care management, I only need doctors to write prescriptions and perform procedure. Under the current insurance industry health care system Doctors don't spend enough time with you to do much useful diagnosis, even the smart ones. And most of the smart ones are even poisoned by the big pharma dominance of the health care narrative.

As far as the stupid affirmative action doctors, currently they are easy for me to avoid because I am self pay and can select my own doctors. Unless they change the rules I will be eligible for Medicare in 3 years, I am not sure how much latitude I will have under that system.

be careful, it's tempting to wanna be your own doctor, and it gets even more tempting when you're right the first few times, you start to think you can diagnose and treat yourself using just google. i was wrong a couple of times myself, it took a doctor only 10 seconds to provide a diagnosis i never would have thought of, and he was right

i think the same thing happened to steve jobs, from what i understand he thought his genius would transfer over and wanted to control his medical care, you know how that ended

so you have to find the right balance between being proactive and informed, and letting the doctor do his job
