People become rich and famous by randomness.
Humans can barely comprehend randomness so they invent causes for the outcomes they observe.
They use their money to invest in those causes -> people like them, cultures like theirs, etc.
Pseudoscience infests its way into technology circles. Society trusts the pseudoscience because again, humans can barely comprehend randomness, so they assume successful people must know what they’re talking about.
In the end, it’s all just non-causal hubs in a network headed by scientifically illiterate rich folk who pump money into nonsense, while an equally scientifically illiterate general public laps it up, keeping rich folk rich, and society dangerously dumb.
