the barrier is how certain experiences will raise the threshold for stimulation, so you can either indulge in hedonistic activities from an early age such as sex, hard drugs, partying, traveling, then killing yourself before becoming a dead inside middle aged man living in his memories forever like a polaroid or you can self restraint for delayed gratification edging maximum pleasure like a goodboy (doubt it would happen)
