Why do people take pride in being affiliated with nerd culture be it video games , stem subjects , academia, dressing like a nerd and doing other low social value activities.

This is a guaranteed root to fail in any social setting . Every single movie made also vilifies nerd culture I.e "eugene".

Yes you can enjoy these activities in private as a secret hobby, but you should always actively be associated with higher social activities , partying , clubbing , festivals etc. Even if you are not part of these.

It's better to be a prince in the clubbing scene then a king in the nerd scene.

True and look where that's got me (us), its pretentious role-playing.

I got treated alot better when i just put on a quality leather brown leather jacket and fitted T and went to a bar, met with a few girls and went to a nightclub, they gave me their number and followed up.

Beats dressing like a a nice guy nerd and sitting in some office like a cuck hoping people find you there.

The reality is women have an auto-filter for anything associated with "nerd" culture and auto-treat you a different way. its practically a fail to be associated with it. Women also have lower barriers for guys associated with the club scene ect.

Think its more to do with perceived options for example a a hot girl dressed in cosplay anime isnt seen as a "nerd" or has reduced social value as people are aware she can fit into any social space.

People back in school would talk about MMO games, yugioh cards, they would play on their Nintendo advanced. Take huge pride in their academia and being the pet's teacher.

Im pretty sure every school has these demographics.

In all honesty, i moved away from doing this shit anymore.

I have a zero books policy-- I never read books anymore I just take action. My investments are up 600%

Stopped coping with nerdy accomplishments like working for a "Forensic engineering consultancy" for shit money. Now i work for multiple companies and was taking home a six figure income (then surgery happened will return to that income momentarily). Actually want to quit working for others and actually have my own company.

It's an actual good observation.

However, I think some demographics such as "good looking women" can transcend and occupy and social demographic they want without any penalty.

Most people looking at this know they are not "gamers" but are merely trying to get followers and possibly money. Whereas a nerd guy playing video games, people know this is his only option.

Some demographics can "bless" certain activities, i remember the days when online dating was for basement weirdos now its hyper NT. I remember when playing on mobile phones was an ethnic thing, now all NT people play on their phones all day.

I'm just saying there is no benefit to associating yourself with nerd culture and its in your interest to at least try to live the hyper NT lifestyle.
