There hasn't been a historical precedent of a nuclear power losing so if global geopolitics get too heated people would just risk it.

Especially if extreme ideologies arise that put crazy people in power that would do anything to get their goal.

With the current moderate leaders probably nothing will happen but who knows what will happen.

If a Muslim fundamenalist government had nukes they would probably nuke Israel and didn't give a fuck about the consequences.

Same with Hamas they know they could lead to them being wiped out but they still risked it.

Just cause we currently have moderate leaders doesn't mean it will stay that way.
