During election season, people claimed Trump was evil for “justifying xenophobia.”

Another example is people might claim I’m wrong in some of my posts for “justifying pedophilia” (really ephebophilia to be technical.)

That being said, if something is truly “evil”, then it shouldn’t be justifiable. However people are claiming such “evil” things are being justified and that’s bad. I think people are just ticked off that there’s an argument to be made for something they feel personal qualms about, and they’re experiencing cognitive dissonance because from a logical standpoint they’re unable to “prove” it’s wrong.

Interesting observation. This has the same effect as when I ask if something considered offensive is true, and people are completely dumbfounded by the question. They don't care about the validity or truth of it, they are just mad because something that hurts their feelings was brought to light.

True, you cant really prove anything as 'wrong'.
Its just hurts the feelings of people and people are VERY emotional.
