I think a big element is the sun, the average person now lives inside, works inside, socializes inside. Even when they go places they get in their car so its shielded from the sun. Sun has a huge effect on skin so for people in the past, working outside on farms, walking or riding horses, etc, they would have way more sun exposure

I'd rather peak in my 40s than have already been past my prime at 25. Girls generally consider me goodlooking (cute or 'kawaii'--I live in Asia alot--are words I hear, no I'm not posting a photo to this forum, at least yet), and everyone tells me (esp. Brazilian and Asian girls for some reason) how I look like a cute young guy now and that I'll be even more handsome when I get older, so for now its more fasting, milk and weight-training for me

The average Arizonian who spends 5 days a week in their home still probably gets more sunlight than your average Continental European who worked in the fields during the late 1800s (i.e the Little Ice Age). You have no idea how mild Northern European summers can be: In Sweden for example, 15°C is considered hot

no they actually aged slower due to better nutrition, lower levels of inflammation, higher levels of average physical activity, much lower levels of chronic disease/obesity/etcetcetc
