Think about this.

any sort of fight, or argument, is based on two sides, wrestling for some "upper hand". if someone is in an argument, they decided to wrestle for the upper hand, as opposed to submitting to their opponent

so when someone says "i just dont wanna argue", they are actually lying. they do wanna argue. they just wanna reach a compromise they are comfortable with, as opposed to acquiescing 100%

I dunno I think this depends.

I think some people are just naturally submissive and/or cowardly. Others know the other party is ful of shit but don't want to waste time talking to them. Some also know they are wrong and want to avoid being called out.
