Is there any advice ya’ll have before my consultation with the surgeon for double jaw surgery? Like things i should prevent

If you plan on getting bimax only for cosmetic reasons you better have done your homework properly and made sure the surgeon actually performs them for purely aesthetic reasons.

In my first consultation the surgeon brutally dnr'd me because I didn't have lethal level sleep apnea. Fucker didn't even allow me to get my scans done.

While the main reason is for cosmetics, i do experience functional problems such as sleep apnea, TMJ and a harder time nose breathing. I am clinically recessed. The ortho concluded me to have a class III bite (despite me having a 6mm overbite) so that’s kinda confusing to me but i’ll have to ask when i go and get my scans done. Regarding your last thing that’s fucked up. But can’t you just go and look for another surgeon that will validate your issues?

Aight good. I recommend you start the consult with these functional problems and only after that bring up cosmetics. Its not a good look to sperg out about aesthetics instantly. Dont use any looksmax/blackpill vocabulary!

When getting your scans done make sure they actually scan your whole skull. Sometimes, for whatever reason they might want to scan only your jaw area.

Regarding your last thing that’s fucked up. But can’t you just go and look for another surgeon that will validate your issues?

Yup. I went to a different surgeon and he was much more understanding.

Yes i will start off with the functional problems and not use any suspicious vocabulary. But when can i start talking about cosmetic preference? And can i even bring it up after we’ve established the functional issues? Could you also elaborate on why it is best to ask for a full skull scan

Cosmetics will be discussed either way since the surgery changes your appearance wether you do it for aesthetic reasons or functional so at one point during the planing it will come up

The only problem with when it comes to insurance covered functional surgery is that even when aesthetics will be discussed they often limit to what they are going for so they most likely won’t do any large unnecessary advancement of e.g. your lower jaw just purely because it might look good but all of this strongly depends on your surgeon some take it more into account then others

And if for any reasons aesthetics don’t get brought up during the procedure which again won’t happen but just in case you would just tell the surgeon that you are worried about what effects the surgery will have on your face and that you want that topic discussed since it’s a major surgery on your face

So i am free to share my desires as long as it stays within reasonable bounds. I am not looking for anything over the top. My chin is 10-15mm recessed and my philtrum is about 17mm long, just want that to be fixed. And obviously i’d like forward advancement in my mandible as well but i don’t know the measurements. I think these desires will be fulfilled automatically though
