I don't think anyone forgets their first love. It's such a powerful emotion, and the first time you feel it, it's like being unbelievably high. It's like being hit by a car made out of marshmallows that knocks you into the sky and you never want to come down. And then it ends. And it's like your heart stayed in the sky, but the rest of you punched a deep crater in the ground. It's such a swing in emotions, there's no way you could forget it.
My first love was a girl named Lauren. She was the manic pixie dream girl. She introduced herself to me by climbing up into my face, nearly nose to nose with me, squinting, and saying she reminded me of someone. We kissed for the first time in the early minutes of January 31st, 2013. I was instantly, irrevocably, madly in love with her. I went to prom with her. We lasted nine months almost to the day. I thought I would die from my broken heart. Over time, we reconnected as friends. She's married now, and has a very smart little kid and another on the way.
That kind of emotional thing is not something you ever forget. It's just too much.
What was your first love??
