I think this is a 1 in a quadrillion post since I haven't seen any thread mention this but there was a study called "Smith et al. (1994) — Landmark study proving estrogen closes male growth plates" where they documented a man that had a null mutation of estrogen and his growth plates never fused which proved that estrogen is mandatory for plate closure. That same guy had a bone age of 15 continuously with a statue of 204cm at the time of documentation, with him being able to still grow until he dies linearly. This is why they are so lucky to have a null mutation of it but the unlucky part of it is that they develop severe osteopenia and persistent joint pain. They also suffer from marked insulin resistance which leads to type 2 diabetes and abnormal cholesterol levels and they can also develop premature atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and increases the long-term risk of cardiovascular disease and that they need medical management forever. In this case I think the bad outweighs the good but never fusing growth plates?? What the fuck
