Composite resin, the same tooth-colored material used for permanent dental fillings, can be applied to the chewing surfaces of molars and premolars to increase bite height. By slightly increasing the vertical dimension, the mandible is encouraged into a different resting posture, which can create the appearance of a more “jutted” or less recessed lower jaw. This effect comes from mandibular rotation and muscle posture by moving the jaw forward .

Imp

A mild counter-clockwise type rotational effect can be encouraged by placing slightly more composite height on the molars and less on the premolars, which biases the vertical increase toward the back of the bite. This posterior weighted change alters the hinge mechanics of the mandible so that, when the jaw closes, it rotates in a way that can make the ramus appear more prominent in profile. This is not true skeletal counter-clockwise rotation or bone growth, but a postural and geometric effect that can make the jaw look less tucked when done conservatively and evenly.

Good luck
