There is no such thing as personalitymaxxing or changing your behavior.

The reason you went to this thread is because you felt like doing it . If you reply to this thread is because you felt like doing it.
All you are is just a brain and your behavior is primarily determined by previous actions, upbringing, and your gentics.

Weve proven multiple times that when the brain is altered your whole personality changes. A person who is naturally introverted cannot “make themselves extroverted” unless they take brain altering substances. Even forcing yourself to do something is just illusionary free will you did it because you wanted to do it

There is nothing you can do that you don’t want to do

Mind body dualism is very interesting, and it was what I thought for years.

Sadly, I now think it is more likely that we are just pieces of meat controlled by seemingly deterministic electricity and chemicals inside a skull.

That means that the "self" and "soul" and "you" are actually just a piece of meat inside a skull. Everything about "you" is that. If it is damaged or destroyed completely, you fundamentally change or cease to exist.

I want this to be incorrect. I want to be a mind that can exist beyond my physical body. No one knows. The current scientific evidence leans towads physicalism.

I believe that there’s a serious chance that everything is predetermined

Straight up genetic pre/determinism, you could take it further and say simulation

Idk tho, philosophers always say some yap about free will
