Hey guys,
I'm dealing with what I call "social PTSD" or "abused dog syndrome" from being ugly and a late bloomer during my teenage years along with being non-nt. I didn’t ascend until I was 20, and while I look good now and get solid attention from women, my self-esteem is still pretty low due to how I was treated growing up.
A bit of background: I was on SSRIs (specifically Prozac/fluoxetine) for almost a decade to manage OCD and anxiety from when I was a kid, but I stopped recently because of sexual side effects. While most of my issues are gone, I still struggle with self-esteem and some social anxiety especially talking to women. I also have ADHD which I manage with Vyvanse as needed. Additionally, I have a slightly addictive personality, so I’m trying to be cautious about which medications I consider. I'm only considering these pharmaceutical interventions as a tool, I'm still implementing CBT with exposure therapy atm, but would appreciate some assistance.
Right now, I’m looking into pharmaceutical options to help with my self-esteem and social PTSD, but I want to avoid anything that could mess with my sexual function or lead to bad/extreme dependency. Here's what I’m considering:
Drugs and supplements I take right now:
Vyvanse 40mg as needed, usually 4 days per week.
Magnesium bisglycinate: 400mg before bed
Zinc: 25mg daily
Boron: 3mg daily
Vit d3: 2000iu daily
Melatonin: 2-5mg before bed
Cialis: 5mg daily
Creatine: 5 grams daily
Will soon start:
Semaglutide: 0.25mg/weekly
My diet consists of 90% healthy whole foods with a good variety of healthy fats and proteins.

- SNRIs (Effexor, Cymbalta): Might be better than SSRIs when it comes to sexual side effects, but are they addictive or difficult to come off of?
- Bupropion (Wellbutrin): I’ve read it has fewer sexual side effects and might even boost motivation. Could this be a good option for someone with anxiety, or is there a risk it could increase it?
- Beta-Blockers (Propranolol): I know these help with the physical symptoms of anxiety in social situations. Can they help with the mental side of things too, or are they just a band-aid for performance anxiety? I have naturally low blood pressure and heart rate, (Around 100/50 and under 60 RHR without stimulants) is this a problem?
- Pregabalin and Baclofen: I’ve heard these can be effective for social anxiety and inhibition but don’t want to risk getting dependent. Anyone with experience on use of these?
