Went out last night and had two girls on two separate incidents ask what phone I had (they both had iPhone 13) and were both put off by the fact I had a cheap android phone. Weird this has never happened before now.

I will end this debate once and for all since Ive been repairing phones since I was a teenager. All western phone companies are dogshit, including apple and samsung. Samsung might have been good about a decade ago but now theyre basically just like apple in practice. Meanwhile Xiaomi is one of the best brand Ive ever used (as long as you dont mind chinese gov spying on you) and has had things like split screen and other shit like that since 2016 which a lot of phones today still dont have. They have the only built in cleaner I've seen that doesnt also try to wipe your pictures and a bunch of other things without telling you like so many other cleaners do, instead just removes only temp and cache files which again, a lot of phones nowadays still dont even have the option for in general. Theyve all this ease of access, advanced widgets and feature ball and everything else you could think of that other brands either dont have or are about 5 years behind on. One major downside, and a very chinese one at that, is theyre now truing to insert adds into their built in apps, like your gallery, but this only happens if you actually make a Mi account which there is no reason to do in the first place. However I also wouldnt be surprised if this practice becomes the norm in western companies as well

The reason why western smartphones are terrible is because western audiences are too stupid for anything else. A lot of asian companies have to make their tech "less complex" if theyre going to release a product with the aim of mass appeal in western countries, what this translates to is that the west is too stupid to handle anything which is why western smartphones arent ever really going to "advance". So when they release lines that are made mostly just for the eastern market, it tends to mog western smartphones

Yeah the downside - I currently have a Xiaomi as well as an Infinix - is that the built-in music app has fucking ads. I don’t even have a Mi account yet it still happens. It’s dumb.

All completely free and even has a built in feature that detects skips sponser ads so for example if theres a youtuber you like that covers songs but they put sponsers at the start or end of their vides it will just skip that section directly
