What do you guys think about physical jobs since they are paid quite well- electrician, wielder, plumber etc. I might learn to do that instead of studying to be an engineer

You should join the unions if you so wish to enter these professions. Secure an apprenticeship too with someone in the business for a hefty amount of time

Paid well for now, as more people getbwise to it and train it will come down.

Or till they just start importing indian plumbers and electricians, which is a meme waiting to happen, given the state of sewage and power cables in india

Solid middle class pay and benefits for any trade program worth a damn. Get ready to bust ass in all types of weather and get yelled at though. Not all day every day, but often enough.

You can easily destroy your body and looks though if you don’t take stringent precautions like sunscreen, proper lifting techniques, wearing adequate PPE, etc. You’ll probably catch some shit for doing this btw.

It’s also a great way to get time off for surgeries. “Take off what you can afford” is a common sentiment. But it’s a double edged sword, because it typically means no pto, and the physical nature of the job means you’ll have to take even more time off than you normally would have to fully recover from each procedure before being cleared to return.

If you can do a trade job and work for any government agency you'll make good money. In the UK, if you can work for National Rail, Transport for London, Thames Water, etc you're set for life.

Oh and there's plenty of work in construction, as the real estate market keeps growing (even investment banks and hedgefunds are buying up property around the world) and they're all trying to get that sweet rental income. Everywhere you look, there's tower blocks and flats being built. More buildings = more work for electricians, carpenters, plumbers. Or you can study a bit and become a "quantity surveyor" in construction, you don't really have to get your hands dirty and it pays well.

Also, AI won't take your job.
