If my dad had moved to USA and earnt millions from his same job in UK, I'd become a pilot and be motivated for a career

As a pilot - the job isn't as a great as it seems buddy. you would be flying the Akron Ohio to Schenectady, NY leg staying in a motel 6 for like 70k total comp for most of your career.
