Is the American accent sing-songy to your ears?

Like the Italian of English accents?

It's weird how Britcels sing in an American accent, Rap with a cute Bri'ish accent, but do death metal in the standard death metal accent

Depends on the dialect

North eastern sounds smart but stuck-up
New Jersey sounds annoying
Boston sounds the most British
Southerners sound like country-bumpkins and racists
Texans sound like cowboys
Californians sound like surfers and liberals
Midwesterners sound like farmers

Well, to be honest, I know British accents as a continuum of indicators of socioeconomic status.

Anywhere you go in the US there are two accents: Standard middle class, and regional working class.

In England there are at least 6 accents at any point in time.

There's the lowest of the low. People who have track suits and drink beer on public transporation

There's the Cockneyesque accent. The band members of Iron Maiden

There's the i'm better than cockney accent. Go watch an interview with the members of Def Lepard

There's the stanard how-they-talk on tv middle class accent. See tv shows

There's the I'm better than the middle class, I prefer fencing accent. See the singer from Iron Maiden

The there's the "I'm a literal god on earth" accent

Exactly. The UK is a very classist society and the traits of each class can be identified in individuals clearly, such as their dialect, manner of speech, dress, behaviour, the way they carry themselves and their attitudes. Some are subtle but you learn to recognise them quickly
