In my group chat of some friends from highschool they were talking about giving money to africa and I said we shouldn’t give them a dime cuz they do nothing with it (Very mild take) Yet this is somehow seen as some extreme far right opinion and I just get insults hurled at me

I learned is NEVER engage in politics unless your agreeing with the popular opinion keep your opinions to yourself if you care about reputation unless you are Chad he can say whatever he wants.

It’s never about any actual debate or substance but simply just being seen as right and feel good opinions
