Which would rather have?

  • Protrusive chin but thin lips

I have big lips but I think I'd look better with a projected chin, my lips ruin my side profile.
I don't think thin (within reason, not fetal alcohol syndrome tier), wide lips look bad tbh, especially since your side won't look like shit.

Gandy has thinnish lips + good fw growth which give him top-tier chin projection, Chico would look BRUTALLY recessed if he had bigger lips.

Which one would you rather have?
Of course they're not always mutually exclusive, but in most people who don't have perfect fw growth, it is.

Depends on phenotype. Both can look good however. Reece king, chris brown looks good with prognathic mouth area. But if you have other caucasian features (deep set eyes, small sharp nose) then thin lips with protruding chin suits better with that pheno. Barrett has an uncanny mixture of both. Nordic eye area with negroid maxilla/mouth area.

Honestly Lip size doesn't matter as much as people say. It's mainly the shape. Many gigachads such as chico and dellisola have thin lips, but good shape. Also, its not good to just have thick lips, but also "plump" lips. Simon Nessman would be an example of a good lip area.
