I think the romantics would say yes and the sober materialists would say no. if it is experienced as real, and only later found out to be a simulation just before death, it is difficult to see how that would be anything other than a real experience. The true material occurrence isn't there but the personal experience is all one person has so it is real for them. I would say yes
